Twenty users of the Fundación Down Madrid had a day of leisure and had the opportunity to meet people outside their usual environment, as they have gone along with volunteers from the Sacyr Foundation to the Baytar Equestrian Center in Leganés.
On this field day, the volunteers painted horseshoes for the youngest to take home as a souvenir to remember this special day by. In addition, some of them were also designed their own collages, with a horse theme.
Sacyr volunteers and members of the Fundación Down Madrid went horseback riding and learned how these animals are cared for. This activity has helped to overcome fears and to understand the respect and affection that should be given to what they consider the noblest animal of all.
At the end of the day, a falconer showed those present what his activity is like and how he trains birds of prey. In addition, those present were also able to participate in this activity.
According to Esther Moral, a Sacyr colleague and Sacyr Foundation volunteer: "We had a wonderful day, doing different activities together, sharing laughter and spending good times with our colleagues, our families and the children of Fundación Down. I am very happy to be able to participate in these initiatives offered to us by Sacyr".
The Sacyr Foundation would like to thank the volunteers and their families for their time, effort and enthusiasm, which makes us grow and fills us with pride to see that we are surrounded by good people who will become drivers of the social change that our world needs.
